The 7-day First Chapter Sprint
Not a challenge with a hashtag. Seven small jobs. Print this (File → Print → Save as PDF) and tape the quota to the machine.
Day 1 — The sentence
Write one breath you could say at dinner. Genre, who, want, obstacle. If it needs a family tree, it’s three books. Cut.
Day 2 — The reader
Name one person. Not “anyone who likes mystery.” A night-shift nurse. A founder who is tired of decks. Write the promise as if you’re emailing them.
Day 3 — The spine
Ten chapter jobs. One job each. Use the outline builder. Do not write chapter one yet.
Day 4 — The quota
400 words or 25 minutes, same chair, phone in another room. Put it on a calendar someone else can see.
Day 5 — Chapter one
Start after the weather. End on a choice. If you explain the world, you are stalling.
Day 6 — Show one human
Send 400 words to someone who will be slightly rude. Ask: where did you get bored?
Day 7 — Decide
Continue this book or formally kill it. Ghosting it is how you stay in the unfinished majority. Open Studio and keep the spine.
